The electroplating process begins with a coating of copper, followed by a coating of nickel and then a shiny layer of chrome. The result is a durable chrome surface with a radiant lustre. At least 28 production steps are necessary to complete a waste bin.

The "Contemporary" waste bins from Samuel Heath are also very functional. They have an acrylic container inside which can be removed, and a rubber base.
