"Blossoming Tree" sculpture by Lladró

The "Blossoming Tree" sculpture is inspired by the Japanese cherry blossom "Hanami" (the symbol of beauty). The term Hanami (Japanese for "looking at blossoms") refers to the famous tradition of the Japanese cherry blossom festival. The "Blossoming Tree" sculpture is made of glossy porcelain and is decorated with the classic colour palette of Lladró in pastel colours, i.e. each individual blossom is created by hand in a complex production process.

Many steps are necessary to bring the sculpture "Blossoming Tree" of Lladró to life. First of all the artists make sketches. Then models are made according to these specifications and finally the Lladró figures are made of porcelain in a complex production process. Finally the painting is done by hand. For the crystalline shine that is so characteristic for Lladró figures, the porcelain is coated with a varnish. Its ingredients are a well-kept company secret.
